Reece's Rainbow is an amazing organization that helps orphans with Down's Syndrome find families.  I thought I might start this blog on childhood by introducing myself. As you can see, my own children are just about stretching the definition by now at 22, 18 and 16 :-) Besides them, my experience of children has been mostly through teaching. I started with high school kids in 1985, shifted to primary and pre-primary around 1989, worked with youths in 1993 and back to high school from 1994 to 2000 and it's been mostly primary since then. At Quininnup Primary I had a k-2 class of just six kids, and I had an aid! We had heaps of space and resources and I thought that if they weren't getting an ideal education, I had no excuse :-) I did some research then about what would be the ideal education and I guess it has been an on-going quest really. | AuthorPenny Vos is a mum and a teacher and feels pretty blessed on both counts:-) ArchivesCategories |
